Tanks and reels
This is a kit from Calumet that includes a 2-reel tank, two reels, and negative sleeves. Unfortunately you will be able to only develop one roll of film at a time if you follow my instructions. - Kit $89 I prefer to develop 3 rolls at a time in a four-reel tank like this one. I still use 4 reels leaving the last one empty for extra air space. - $34 The best reels are made by Hewes, but have become terribly expensive. - $36 each from Calumet.

You might find good deals on used tanks and reels.

Plastic tanks and reels are acceptable. Patterson, JOBO, and Samigon make good ones. Around $30-$50. Get two reels (some kits come with only one).

Negative sleeves
Printfile negative sleeves model 35-7B or similar (i.e. Calumet #AD1025).  These hold 35 exposures and the entire sheet can be printed on one 8x10 sheet of photo paper (unlike the kind that hold film sideways. $7 for 25 pages

Falcon Dustoff or similar compressed air can. $10 Staticmaster brush for stubborn dust (Optional - probably not necessary for this class) - $24

Marshall Spot-All for spotting out dust spots on your finished prints. - $5 A kit of Marshall Spot-All for various paper colors. Usually though just neutral black is OK. - Kit $9

Dry mounting tissue
Bienfang/Seal 8x10 Colormount dry mounting tissue. Will mount both RC and fiber papers. $13 for 25 sheets. Not required for class, but might be nice. Bienfang/Seal 8x10 Archival Mount. Another option. $40/100 sheets. Not required.

Most of these items can be purchased from Freestyle Photographic Supplies (Hollywood, CA),  Calumet Photo (near Chicago),  or B&H Photo (NY). Close to Athens, Midwest Photo Exchange (Columbus) may have many of these items. Second-hand film developing equipment (tanks, reels, etc.) may be found elsewhere at reasonable prices.

Footnote: Unfortunately many items from Calumet have increased dramatically in price, and many needed items now have 1-3 week lead times.   Calumet has gone out of business.
