Tanks and reels | ||||
This is a kit from Calumet that includes a 2-reel tank, two reels, and negative sleeves. Unfortunately you will be able to only develop one roll of film at a time if you follow my instructions. - Kit $89 | I prefer to develop 3 rolls at a time in a four-reel tank like this one. I still use 4 reels leaving the last one empty for extra air space. - $34 | The best reels are made by
Hewes, but have become terribly expensive. - $36 each from Calumet. You might find good deals on used tanks and reels. |
Plastic tanks and reels are acceptable. Patterson, JOBO, and Samigon make good ones. Around $30-$50. Get two reels (some kits come with only one). | |

Freestyle Photographic
Supplies (Hollywood, CA),
Calumet Photo (near Chicago),
or
B&H Photo (NY). Close to Athens, Midwest Photo
Exchange (Columbus) may have many of these items. Second-hand film developing equipment (tanks, reels,
etc.) may be found elsewhere at reasonable prices.
Footnote: Unfortunately many items from
Calumet have increased dramatically in price, and many needed items now have 1-3
week lead times. Calumet has gone out of business.
