In this snapshot from the early 70s I'm skating with a friend on Melody Lake, near Zanesville, Ohio. It was located about a mile from my childhood home. We couldn't really skate as well as it appears. We faked this pose for the camera (notice the direction the skates are pointing!)

I wish winters today would be cold enough to freeze ponds like this one.
