The Spot Removal tool (shown selected at the top of the dialog box) enables users to spot for dust. Unlike similar tools found in Photoshop, in Camera RAW this tool's work is reversible. When made in Camera RAW, all retouching may be removed at a later date.

Using it is simple. Select the tool, and click over any dust that shows. The brush size and opacity may be adjusted in the right-hand control panel.

The drop-down list at the top  of the control panel lets the user choose between the Heal tool, or the Clone tool. When using the Clone tool, click on the spot. A second circle appears that matches the brush size. Slide this to another area in the picture without any defects, and it will be copied to the spot where you started.

If things go wrong, there is a Clear All button at the bottom. Again, this is reversible even days or years later.
